Menopause at work

Menopausal and perimenopausal women are the fastest-growing demographic in the workforce which means it is more important than ever to be able to speak openly about menopause at work.

Menopause can affect a woman's working life. Some menopausal symptoms can impact the ability to concentrate or carry out your role to the best of your ability.  Coping with symptoms in the workplace can be difficult, as it is not always easy to talk about menopause at work.

We held a lunchtime event with Kate Usher, a Menopause Coach & Gender Equity Consultant, working for over ten years with women and organisations to create modern menopause conversations that enable women to stay in their chosen careers and achieve their professional ambitions. Prior to this she has 20 years’ experience leading IT transformation projects in FTSE100 organisations.

Kate covered:

  • Menopause and perimenopause facts – and busting the myths
  • Bias and stereotypes
  • Impact on women and the workplace
  • Why it’s an increasingly important issue in the workplace
  • Talking about menopause at work
